Therapy services

Our therapists are trained and qualified mental health professionals from complementary fields of counselling, clinical psychology, MFT, and other recognised fields of psychotherapy. We work collaboratively with a treatment goal orientation, where clients' goals are specified or clarified as early as possible. Our client support team members are trained graduates (some pursuing master's degrees in counselling) and they assist clients in making decisions on how to access therapy services.

We see clients of all ages from as young as 4 years old. Sessions are held with clients individually, as couples, and/or as family units. We begin with an intake assessment to determine the client(s) needs. If our clients' issue is relational in nature, we recommend the key people affected by the issue to come in together for the intake assessment. This helps us to be able to best understand our clients' issue systemically from multiple perspectives. However, a client may choose to come in for therapy individually even if the issue is relational in nature.

We treat a full range of mental, emotional, and relational issues including but not limited to the following:

Mental Health Disorders
Depression • Anxiety • Bipolar disorder • Schizophrenia • Autism spectrum disorder • Personality disorders (e.g. narcissism, borderline personality) • Low self-esteem • Self-injury/Suicide • Eating disorders • Dissociative identity disorder • Post-traumatic stress • Addiction (drug, alcohol, sex, gambling, gaming) • Conduct disorder (teen acting out) • Gender dysphoria • Grief and loss.

Relationship Issues
Marital conflict • Infidelity • Separation/divorce • Parenting challenges • Poor communication • Domestic violence • Multiple-birth stress • Re-marriage • Post-divorce blended family relationships • LGBT issues • Polyamory relationships • Cross-cultural relationships • Caregiver stress (caring for family members with chronic or mental illness).

Lifestyle-Related Issues
Expat stress • Midlife crisis • Financial stress • Anger management • Assertiveness skills • Spiritual emptiness • Loneliness • Discovering self-identity • Life transitions.

All our therapists are qualified with master's or doctoral-level training to provide effective therapy for the majority of client issues covered above. In addition, each clinician may have sub-specialty training and can incorporate the following therapy modalities into their work:

mental health @ work

Rekindle's Employee Assistance Programme is a unique and affordable way for companies to incorporate mental health services into their employee benefits package. Our pay-per-use programme has been designed to allow companies to provide top-quality mental health service to their employees without a monthly fee commitment - companies only pay when employees use the service. To budget for costs, companies can specify the maximum number of sessions employees are eligible for per year. (On average in Malaysia, about 2% to 5% of employees take up EAP counselling sessions.)

Companies that sign up for our no-upfront-payment EAP contract will also receive discounted rates for in-company Wellness Training packages that cover topics such as: Stress Management, Mental Health in the Workplace, Communication Skills, and more.

Since 2014, Rekindle has provided EAP contracts and corporate mental health training to corporations such as: Taylor's Education Group, SG Global Support Services, Datacom Systems (Asia) Sdn. Bhd., Reapfield Properties, Evaptech Asia Pacific Sdn, Bhd., APP Timber Sdn. Bhd., Workplace Options LLC, and other organisations including Government Departments both Malaysian and Foreign (government department names not mentioned due to privacy/confidentiality requirements).

As Rekindle is also a Human Resource Development Corp (HRD Corp) registered training provider, companies can also take advantage of  the HRD Levy to provide wellness and mental health focused training for their employees. Please go to our HRD Corp Page for more information.
